Cannabis plants worth estimated €200,000 seized in Dublin

A 36-year-old has been arrested after cannabis plants – in varying stages of maturity – are found in the north inner city.

A 36-YEAR-OLD MAN has been arrested after Gardaí seized cannabis plants worth an estimated €200,000 from a premises in north inner city Dublin today.

The plants were seized from an address at Rutland Place, Dublin 1, after an afternoon raid carried out by Gardaí from the Crime Resource Unit attached to Mountjoy Garda Station, assisted by the Store Street Divisional Drugs Unit.

Mature cannabis plants, and other plants in various stages of maturity, were recovered.

Gardaí believe the plants to be worth €200,000, pending further analysis.

The arrested man is being questioned at Mountjoy Garda Station under Section 4 of the Criminal Justice Act 1984, and investigations are continuing.
