"Elaborate grow house" in Waterford yields €470,000 worth of seized cannabis

A woman in her 40s was arrested at scene of the seizure yesterday.

A SEARCH OF a house in Waterford has led to the seizure of an estimated €470,000 worth of cannabis.

A woman in her 40s was arrested at scene of the seizure in at Coppinger Court, Powerscourt, Waterford at approximately 4pm yesterday.

The search was part of a planned operation by gardaí from the Waterford drug unit who discovered cannabis plants with an estimated street value of up to €170,000 and cannabis herb with an estimated street value of up to €300,000.

The cannabis plants are said to be in “various stages of growth” with gardaí describing the what they found to be “an elaborate grow house”.

The woman is being held at Tramore Garda Station with the house currently preserved for a technical examination.
