Man dies after serious single-car crash in Dunshaughlin

The accident occurred at about 4:45am a kilometre outside Dunshaughlin; the female driver has also been hospitalised.

A 24-YEAR-OLD man has died after a single-car accident in Co Meath in the early hours of the morning.

The accident occurred at about 4:45am at Cooksland, about 1 kilometre to the Navan side of Dunshaughlin.

The man was taken to Blanchardstown hospital where he died this morning from his injuries.

The other occupant of the car, a 23-year-old female, was taken to Navan hospital where her injuries are not thought to be life-threatening.

The road remains closed for a forensic examination, and will be shut until lunchtime. Local traffic diversions are in place.
