GARDAÍ IN CO Louth are appealing for information after finding an empty car turned onto its roof.

The incident happened at Lurgankeel to the north of the county near to Kilcurry at approximately 3am this morning.

The scene was attended by Gardaí from Dundalk and Dromad stations as well as ambulance services.

By the time emergency services arrived the driver had fled the scene.

It is not known whether or not they sustained injuries. The origin of the vehicle is also unclear at this point.
