Caroline Graham: Police launch murder inquiry

Caroline Graham went missing from Portadown in 1989 – detectives investigating the case have now launched a murder inquiry.

DETECTIVES INVESTIGATING THE disappearance of Caroline Graham, who went missing from her home in Portadown in April 1989, have now launched a murder inquiry.

The PSNI said this morning that they had changed the case and now have a number of new lines of inquiry.

They said that Caroline was 19 years old and was living with her boyfriend in Hanover Street at the time of her disappearance, but was originally from the Newry area.

It’s understood she was living in the Portadown area for around two years before her disappearance.

Officers have carried out a number of extensive searches in the area surrounding her home over the years. However Caroline’s body has not yet been found.

In 2001, the BBC reported that forensic scientists searched a garden in County Armagh. At the time, her mother Barbara Graham said she wanted somebody out there with information about her daughter’s disappearance to finally come forward.

Detectives are appealing for anyone who may have any information about Caroline’s disappearance to contact them on 0845 600 8000 or directly on 028 9070 0727, or the office mobile on 075 8522 8283.

Alternatively, the PSNI said that people can provide information anonymously to the independent charity Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111.
