Channel 4 documentary on missing Esra Uyrun airs tonight

The mother of one left her home at Collinstown Grove in Clondalkin at around 7.15am on 23 February 2011. Her car was found in Bray.

A WOMAN WHO went missing in Ireland in February 2011 is to be featured on a documentary about missing people this evening on Channel 4.

Featuring three families that are looking for their loved ones who seem to have vanished without a trace, the Channel 4 documentary ‘The Missing’ will feature Esra Uyrun’s story.

Esra Uyrun, a 38-year-old mother of one has not been seen since leaving her home at Collinstown Grove, Clondalkin at around 7.15am on 23 February 2011.

She was driving a grey Renault Twingo – registration number 08 D 23067.

Never returned

Uyrun, who is originally from the UK but is of Turkish descent, was meant to go to the local shop to get some milk for her two-year-old son before her husband needed the car to go to work.

However, she never returned and the car and it was later found that day parked in Bray.

The police investigation has gone cold leaving Esra’s family and young son Emin, aged 5, without any answers as to what happened to her.

The Channel 4 programme follows Esra’s sister Berna on a trip to Ireland to investigate the disappearance herself.

Berna recreates her sister’s last known movements and voices her concerns that she has been kidnapped and could still be alive.

A sister’s search

In tonight’s programme, Berna meets the detective in charge of the case, with Berna remaining hopeful that her sister is still alive and vows to continue in her search until her sister is found.

Ms Uyrun is described as 5’3” in height, with dark hair and green eyes.  When last seen she was wearing black leggings, white Nike trainers, and a dark top.
