CHELSEA CLINTON HAS announced the birth of her first-born child, a daughter Charlotte Clinton Mezvinsky.
The daughter of former President Bill Clinton and Secretary of State Hillary Clinton made the announcement on both Facebook and Twitter last night.
Educated at Stanford, Columbia and Oxford Universities, Chelsea Clinton runs the Clinton Foundation with her parents.
Clinton’s husband Marc Mezvinsky is an investment banker.
The former first daughter, 34, left her position as NBC special correspondent in August to focus on her pregnancy and the birth of her daughter.
Hillary Clinton is widely anticipated to launch a second bid to become the first woman president of the United States by contesting the 2016 Democrat nomination for the White House.
Chelsea Clinton began work as a special correspondent with NBC in 2011. The position has caused controversy recently because of Clinton’s reported salary of $600,000 and the relatively few reports she has made for the network.
Her father Bill was first elected president in 1992 and served two-terms in the White House.
