Going to any Christmas parties? Late night trains have you covered from tomorrow

Extended services will run the two weekends before Christmas and on New Year’s Eve.

GOOD NEWS IF you live in Dublin, Maynooth or Dundalk: late night Dart and commuter trains are back running this week for the festive season.

The Dart, Dundalk and Maynooth commuter line services will run after midnight over the next two weekends, as well as New Year’s Eve.

The late night service has been extended from two to three nights – Thursday, Friday and Saturday – this year.

Darts will also be running as far as Greystones, having previously operated to Bray only.

Fares will be charged at normal Dart and Commuter rates, and season tickets and Leap cards are valid on all services.

All late night trains will have security personnel on board to ensure customer safety, Iarnród Éireann said.

Extended Dart services will run as follows:

Late night 10-12, 17-18 December

  • 00.30 and 01.30 from Pearse serving all stations to Howth
  • 00.30 and 01.30 from Connolly serving all stations to Greystones
  • 00.40 and 01.40 from Pearse serving Tara St, Connolly and all stations from Howth Junction to Dundalk
  • 00.20 and 01.50 from Pearse serving all stations to Maynooth

Late night 31 December

  • 01.30 and 02.30 from Pearse serving all stations to Howth
  • 01.30 and 02.30 from Connolly serving all stations to Greystones
  • 01.40 and 02.40 from Pearse serving Tara St, Connolly and all stations from Howth Junction to Dundalk
  • 01.20 and 02.50 from Pearse serving all stations to Maynooth
