Missing You

Open Thread: Leave a Christmas message for your loved ones

Are you working out time difference to see when your loved ones will be up? Send your thoughts to those you’re missing.

A SIGN OF our times, emigration is now a well-worn word in most Irish households. And the reality of having loved ones living abroad hits hardest at times of celebration.

Tens of thousands of Irish people are enjoying new opportunities and adventures in far-off and exciting lands, but they may feel a pang of homesickness over the coming days.

Some will already have marked a Christmas or two abroad, while others will be away from their loved ones for the first time tomorrow.

Are you decked out in a GAA jersey and Santa hat on Bondi beach? Or learning to love eggnog in the States? If you are away from home, please send a message to your family and friends here and share your thoughts on spending Christmas overseas.

For those at home, leave your greetings for your missed on in the comments section too.
