20-year-old to appear before court in connection with murder of Christy Daly

He is the second to be charged in connection with the death of the 47-year-old.

A 20-YEAR-OLD MAN is due to appear before court tomorrow charged in connection with the death of Christy Daly.

He is the second to be been charged in connection with the investigation.

The 47-year-old’s body was discovered in a drain in Kilbride, Offaly, on 7 January.

He had suffered a number of gunshot wounds.

Daly had been released from prison last month after serving a three-year sentence for false imprisonment.

He had also been convicted of a number of other offences, including assault, in the past.

The 20-year-old was arrested last Wednesday by investigating gardaí.

He is scheduled to appear before Portlaoise District Court tomorrow at 10.30am.
