Details of Clare homecoming event announced

There’s going to be one almighty party in Ennis tomorrow night.

CLARE WILL WELCOME their All-Ireland heroes home at a public event in Ennis tomorrow night.

The Banner lifted Liam MacCarthy for the first time in 16 years after a thrilling 5-16 to 3-16 win over Cork in this evening’s All-Ireland hurling final replay.

Davy Fitzgerald’s senior squad will share a joint homecoming with the county’s U21s, who clinched a second successive All-Ireland title by beating Antrim a fortnight ago.

The event at Tim Smythe Park (formerly known as The Fair Green) will begin at 6pm tomorrow evening with big screen entertainment and musical acts.

“The sense of achievement that the Clare hurlers have instilled in the people of Clare, irrespective of whether they are hurling fans, cannot be understated,” the Mayor of Clare, Cllr Joe Arkins, said this evening.

“The country has not seen hurling teams as exciting and gifted as these young sides in many a year.”

For those who cannot be in attendance, the homecoming will be broadcast around the world on the Ennis App and on ennisapp.ie.
