The towers, which stand 207m above ground, were climbed by a Danish daredevil who goes by the name ‘Oliver’.

The teenager filmed his ascent with a selfie stick, and the resulting video has been going viral.

A spokesperson for the ESB, which operates the site, said the incident had been reported to gardaí at Irishtown.

He said the ESB condemned the “reckless nature of the acts shown” and was mindful of the risk that it could prompt copycat acts.

Youtube has also been contacted about the video, the spokesperson said. Additional security measures are also being taken at the site.
