12-year-old boy dies after pony-and-trap collides with truck

The incident happened in Clondalkin.

A 12-YEAR-OLD boy has been killed after the pony and trap that he was travelling on collided with a truck.

The incident happened at around 1.40pm this afternoon on St Cuthberts Road in Clondalkin, an area of south Dublin.

The child was fatally injured in the crash and pronounced dead at the scene.

His body has been removed to Our Lady’s Children’s Hospital in Crumlin.

Two other boys were also travelling on the pony and trap at the time of the collision but were not injured and did not require hospital treatment.

Garda Forensic Collision Investigators are currently examining the scene.
