Confusion over ‘Irish’ teen stabbed on Ibiza holiday

It has emerged that 19-year-old Jack McCarthy, who was stabbed five times in Ibiza, is British.

REPORTS THAT A teenager stabbed five times whilst on holiday in Ibiza is an Irish citizen have been clarified this morning.

TheJournal.ie understands that 19-year-old Jack McCarthy, who was knifed four times in the back and once in the face in the San Antonio resort, is a British citizen from Liverpool.

It had earlier been reported that McCarthy was from Ireland. He is described as being in a serious but stable condition.

The British Foreign and Commonwealth Office confirmed that it was aware of the hospitalisation of a British citizen in Ibiza and is providing consular assistance.
