Connecticut police: People are posing online as school shooter

Police said at a press conference today that people are posing as the shooter online, and an investigation is underway to uncover who these people are.

MISINFORMATION is being spread about the Connecticut shootings online, and those responsible could find themselves prosecuted, authorities said today.

Lieutenant Paul Vance spoke at a press conference today, where he said that the only people giving out correct information on the case are the police or other authorities.

He said that the “newest twist” was that social media websites are publishing information on the case that is not coming from authorities and in many cases has been found to be inaccurate. According to Lt Vance, people have been posing as the shooter online, and an investigation is underway into this.

He said these issues will be investigated and the people responsible could be prosecuted.

Lt Vance reiterated that there is no timeline for Friday’s shocking shootings being put out by police, who are also not describing the location of where the body of the suspected shooter was found.

He said that the shooting took place in a singular part of the school. Lt Vance said that the authorities have not stated what evidence they have and have not collected, and that he is confident they have the “best of the best” working on the case.

President Obama is on his way to the town tonight, and will take part in an interfaith vigil there to remember the 27 people (including 20 children) who were killed in what was one of the USA’s worst mass shootings.
