Charged

Man charged in relation to Coolock gun seizure

Gardaí made the seizure in September of last year.

A 26-YEAR old man has been charged by gardaí in relation to the seizure of guns and ammo in the Snowdrop area of Darndale, north Dublin, last September.

The man was arrested by detectives on Thursday and was questioned at Coolock garda station. He is due to appear before the courts this morning.

A garda spokesman said: “Gardaí at Coolock seized a firearm and ammunition during the planned of a house in the Snowdrop area of Darndale on 30 September 2016. The items seized were technically examined.

The man was arrested in the Coolock area on 9 February 2017 and detained at Coolock Garda Station under Section 30 of the Offences Against the State Act, 1939 as amended.”
