Man due in court after Cork gardaí find gun and ammunition in car

A woman arrested in connection with the investigation was released without charge.

A MAN IS due to appear in court tomorrow morning charged in connection with a gun found during a search of a car in Cork on Friday evening.

Gardaí at Clogheenmilcon in Blarney, county Cork were conducting a checkpoint when they stopped and searched a car. The discovered a shotgun and ammunition and a man and woman, both in their 30s, were arrested.

They were held for questioning in separate garda stations and the woman was released without charge. Gardaí said a file will be sent to the Director of Public Prosecutions in relation to the woman.

The man will appear before Cork district court tomorrow morning, charged in connection with the investigation.
