According to Phoenix Magazine the Irish Air Corps are using this http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Britten-Norman_Defender aircraft to suss out these grow houses. They have advanced surveillance equipment like sideways looking radar and thermal imaging equipment that can spot the heat glow off the grow houses. They just fly around either randomly or to a suspected area and when they see a building of interest the local cops are informed. This is especially true at this time of year as no-one has their heating on so these grow houses might as well put a flashing neon sign over their doors.

There has been many rumours regarding the source of information availed of by the Gardai in relation to the detection of growhouses ranging from divulgence of domestic electrical consumption rates by utility companies to the the eye in the sky theory that you suggest. either way it is significant that the media (journal.ie included) are very active in reporting on the frequency of detection but rather lacking in reporting on the subsequent trial and conviction of those accused.

Hi John, it is not always possible to cover all court sittings that take place in the country. It’s not a deliberate decision not to cover the outcome of these drugs cases.

Well said Gary. I dont smoke either but I know people who do and from what I have learned is that The stuff isn’t going to make you brain dead. Everything in moderation IMO.

maybe there Not left brain dead but there are some that become total duds from it. fair enough let them smoke it themselves and do what they like but the problem is they do affect others with there actions from it. some do , not all. same with everything i suppose there’s always a few who let the side down.

say that to the people who suffer mental problems from cannabis use. all these drugs affect people differently.

Pierce. Cannabis is often the road to stronger/class a drugs. Long term use if cannabis often leaves people brain dead. Then so does alcohol. And that’s legal.
