Court for man charged in relation to Portmarnock armed robbery

The man in his 40s is due to appear before the courts tomorrow morning.

A MAN IN his 40s is due to appear before the Dublin District Court in connection with an armed robbery.

He will appear at 10.30am charged in relation to an armed robbery in Portmarnock on 16 November 2012.

At approximately 5.30pm on the 16 November, two men entered a financial institution in Portmarnock armed with a firearm and threatened staff before leaving with an amount of cash.

On leaving the premises the men were confronted by a garda on patrol in the area. A number of shots were fired before the men hijacked a car and fled the scene. The garda was uninjured.

The arrested man was detained under Section 30 of the Offences against the State Act, 1939, at Coolock Garda Station.
