Motorcyclist (50s) killed after crash with tractor

The driver of the tractor was uninjured.

GARDAÍ ARE INVESTIGATING an incident in which a motorcyclist was killed in Roscommon after being involved in a crash with a tractor.

Gardaí in Boyle are investigating a two-vehicle fatal road traffic collision that occurred on the N5 between Strokestown and Scramoge Cross at approximately 8pm this evening.

The driver of a motorcycle was fatally injured after his vehicle collided with a tractor.

He was pronounced dead at the scene and his body has been removed to Roscommon Hospital. The driver of the tractor was uninjured.

The road is currently closed to be examined by Garda forensic collision investigators and local diversions are in place.
