Man in his 70s announced dead at scene is revived in hospital after four-car crash in Dublin

The collision happened in Walkinstown this afternoon.

Clarification: Information supplied to media outlets by Gardaí originally said that a man in his 70s was pronounced dead at the scene following the road collision. They have since updated that information.

A MAN IN his 70s is in “critical condition” after a four-car collision in south west Dublin this afternoon.

He was pronounced dead at the scene, but was revived after he was removed to Tallaght Hospital.

The crash happened on St. Peter’s Road in Walkinstown at about 1.10pm.

Four cars were involved in the incident.

Gardaí say the occupants of the three other cars were unharmed in the crash.

The road is currently closed and diversions are in place.

Gardaí are appealing for witnesses to the crash to come forward and contact them.
