Cyclist dies in Co Galway accident

Man aged in his early 50s died at the scene of the crash in Kilmawlaw, Ballinasloe.

A MALE CYCLIST has died after a road accident in Kilmalaw, Kilconnell, Ballinasloe, Co Galway at around 2.40pm today.

The cyclist, aged in his early 50s, died at the scene.

A garda spokesperson said that gardaí do not believe any vehicle was involved in the incident, but they are investigating the circumstances surrounding the death.

The road is closed pending a forensic examination and diversions are in place.

Gardaí are appealing to any witnesses to contact Ballinasloe Garda Station on 090 963 1890, the Garda Confidential Line 1800 666 111, or any garda station.
