Two arrested over daylight attack on Dame Street

The men are being questioned about a serious stabbing that took place on Monday afternoon in front of the Central Bank.

TWO MEN HAVE been arrested in connection with a serious assault in broad daylight on a Dublin street earlier this week.

The males, both aged in their 20s, were arrested this afternoon and are being held at Pearse Street and Kevin Street stations.

The suspects are to be questioned about an incident during which a 27-year-old man received serious stab wounds to his face and stomach.

The victim was standing under the ‘Tree of Life’ monument outside the Central Bank on Dame Street when he was accosted and stabbed multiple times by four men at about 5.40pm on Monday.

He was taken to St James’s Hospital where he remains. His condition has been described as critical.
