Two men arrested in connection with 2008 death

Two men have been arrested in connection with the shooting dead of Darren Guerrine in February 2008.

TWO MEN HAVE been arrested in connection with the death of Darren Guerrine four years ago.

The two men are being detained at separate garda stations in Dublin having been arrested earlier today.

Guerrine, 21, was found dead on the bank of the Grand Canal between the Kylemore Road and the Naas Road in west Dublin just a few yards from his home on the morning of 18 February 2008.

A post mortem later showed that he was shot dead at point blank range in the incident.

One of the men is in his mid-30s and is being held at Kilmainham garda station with the second man in his late 20s being held at Kevin Street garda station.

Both men are being held under section 30 of the Offences Against the State Act 1939 and can be held for a total of 72 hours.
