Seriously, can someone tell me why the Dail is currently, essentially, empty?

Hope we see this completely empty chamber on VinB tonight… Because unless there’s a good excuser this really underscores the problem in Ireland right now.

Honestly, at this point, I think there’s absolutely no hope for the Irish government.

I am a very liberal, very pro-society, but this whole thing is making me very anti-government, at least Irish government.

How many people’s lives and livelihood have been ruined by corruption in Ireland? Countless.

Pathetic.

Why is the Dail empty????

Where are the parliamentarians? There number in the chamber ‘debating’ is so few, a cynical view of democracy is being projected. If the establishment parties want to turn voters off politics and towards extremism, they are doing successful work.

Their answer for the empty chamber is that there is Public Accounts meetings on all day.

Not true today as there are no Public Accounts in session…….I often look in on the Dáil proceedings and most days are like today, maybe 9 or 10 people there!

The only time that you get a lot Ministers or TD’s there is in the morning for Taoiseash’s questions and immediately that is over, there is a mass exodus out of the Dáil!

Strange thing is that if there is a motion calling for a vote, there is a rush of TD’s etc into the Chamber, so they are close at hand, what they are doing is another thing!
