THE UK’S SERIOUS ORGANISED Crime Agency (SOCA) has come under cyberattack, with a DDoS attack forcing its website to go down.

The BBC reports that the site was taken down last night and that SOCA said there was no threat to its security.

The organisation said it decided to take the site offline in an effort to “limit the impact” on other clients hosted by their service provider.

A SOCA spokesperson told PoliceOracle that the attack posed no risk to its employees or its data, adding that the website only contains publicly available material and not operational material.

Last year, LulzSec said it was behind an attack which forced the SOCA site offline for several hours almost a year ago.
