up on the roof

This delivery driver left a customer's parcel in a very 'safe place' indeed

How did the parcel end up on the ROOF?

WE’VE ALL HAD some…interesting experiences with getting things delivered.

But hopefully none of us will ever have to deal with a driver deciding to just throw your package on the roof.

See it there, lounging in the gutter?

It gets better, because the delivery man tried to write a small explanation in the ‘I have left your parcel in a safe location’ box:

Sorry top off [sic] your roof

Very safe location, indeed. The customer complained to the delivery company on Twitter, asking them if there was any reason why the driver threw the package on the roof.

The mystery was soon solved after Yodel tracked down the driver – a spokesperson for the company told the Mirror:

One of our drivers was overly enthusiastic in his attempt to deliver a parcel for a customer who was out; aiming for an open window, he missed and found the roof.
Yeah, that’s the window you can see in the picture that’s open just a crack.
It was obviously a silly thing to do and this is very embarrassing. To his credit, the driver returned to the house with some ladders in his own time to retrieve the parcel and apologise to the customer.
