GARDAÍ IN NAAS, with the assistance of Crimestoppers, have renewed their appeal for information about the murder of Dessie Fox 22 years ago.

The Dungannon bookmaker was killed at Healy’s Bridge in Prosperous, county Kildare on 30 September 1990. He was travelling to a race meeting at the Curragh when he was robbed by at least two men and shot dead.

Detective Inspector Ashley O’Sullivan from Naas Garda Station has urged people who may have information to come forward. “Twenty-two years following the brutal murder of Dessie Fox, we remain confident that someone has information which could lead us to identify the people responsible.”

Fox’s wife and three daughters also made an emotional request for anyone who could move forward the investigation to contact Gardaí or Crimestoppers.

His daughter Lorna Fox O’Mahony said, “For us to deal with this we need to know the truth of what happened on that day. We believe that there are people out there who know what happened to our Dad the day he was killed. We all loved him and miss him so much. Whatever information you may have, please come forward now. It is not too late to help.”
