Five diggers set on fire in Down arson attack

The cabs of all five vehicles were destroyed in the incident, police have said.

DETECTIVES IN DOWN are appealing for information today following an arson in the area of Movilla Road/Ballyblack Road East during the early hours of Wednesday morning.

At approximately 2am it was reported that a number of diggers parked in the area had been set alight. Police and the fire service attended and the fires were extinguished. The cabs of all five vehicles were destroyed in the incident.

Detectives are asking anyone who noticed any activity in the area overnight or who has any information about this incident to contact them at Newtownards CID on 0845 600 8000.
