TWO MEN ARRESTED yesterday as part of an operation into the activities of dissident Republicans will appear in court this evening.
The two men are expected to appear before a sitting of the Special Criminal Court in Dublin this evening at 7.30pm charged in connection with this investigation.
The two men were arrested in the Dean Rock area of Togher, Co Cork, as part of an ongoing operation into the activities of Dissident Republicans.
Members from the Detective Unit from Togher Garda Station stopped a vehicle at 4pm yesterday and arrested the two males in the vehicle.
The two were detained at Togher Garda Station under the provisions of Section 30 of the Offences against the State Act 1939.
Two firearms (handguns) were also recovered at the scene and were subject to technical examination.
