A group of musicians are teaming up to stop Donald Trump winning

THIRTY ARTISTS AND bands have come together in an attempt to stop Donald Trump winning the US Presidency.

The 30 Days 30 Songs initiative kicked off this week with the release of Seattle band Death Cab For Cutie’s song Million Dollar Loan.

The lyrics are pointedly aimed at the billionaire businessman and Republican candidate. It references his statement earlier in the year that he was a self-made man, albeit with a “small loan” from his father.

A million dollar loan
Nobody makes it on their own without
A million dollar loan
You’ll reap what you’ve sown from
A million dollar loan
Call your father on the phone and get that
Million dollar loan

Since then, songs from Bhi Bhiman, Jim James and Aimee Mann have been posted.

The movement is produced by the creators of 90 Days, 90 Reasons, which campaigned to voters to give President Barack Obama a second term in 2012.

The group, Artists for a Trump-free America, say that they want to stop Trump’s “ignorant, divisive, and hateful campaign”.

We will not be duped by Mr Trump’s rhetorical contortions, by his pandering and lies and false promises. He has shown the content of his character time and time again, and the very fact of his candidacy is a blight on the nation.

“His words incite hatred and celebrate inequity. Most troubling of all, over the past year, the country has become inured to the towering vileness of his rhetoric and deeds, his attacks on women, Mexican-Americans, Muslims, and those with disabilities.”

They appeal to voters not to reject Hillary Clinton on the basis that they haven’t “fallen in love” with her.

“This is not a romance. We are electing the leader of the most powerful nation on earth. This is a decision for the head, not the heart.

“We hope these songs provide both motivation and soundtrack to doing the right thing these last few weeks before this most pivotal election.”

On the other side, Trump has been endorsed by Ted Nugent, Kid Rock and Times Square’s Naked Cowboy.
