Police in Down investigating the suspicious death of man in his 80s

DCI Alan Dickson from Serious Crime Branch said he was looking for anyone with information to come forward.

POLICE IN NORTHERN Ireland are investigating the death of a man in his 80s which they say is suspicious.

85-year-old Frank Bratley was found at his home in the Old Forge area of Banbridge in County Down and the PSNI say they are treating his death as suspicious.

DCI Alan Dickson from Serious Crime Branch said he was looking for anyone with information to come forward.

I am appealing for anyone with any information about suspicious or unusual activity in the Old Forge area between 7am and 2pm today or anyone who saw or spoke to Mr Bratley to contact Police on the non-emergency number 101 quoting reference number 874 19/07/16.

“Alternatively if someone would prefer to provide information without giving their details they can contact the independent charity Crimestoppers and speak to them anonymously on 0800 555 111.”

A post mortem examination will be held later today.
