Kidnap

Man bundled into van by men in balaclavas in Down kidnapping

The 27-year-old was released uninjured later that day but police are appealing for witnesses.

POLICE IN DOWN are appealing for information following a reported kidnapping incident that occured on Thursday.

At 10am, a 27-year-old man was walking in the Bryansburn Road area when a white high top Transit van pulled up beside him. Two men, both wearing balaclavas and one armed with a knife, bundled him into the van.

The man was let out of the vehicle in the Crawfordsburn Road area of Newtownards a while later uninjured.

One of the men in the van is described as being approximately 5’10″ tall, of heavy build, with green eyes and was wearing a black Puffer jacket, black Adidas tracksuit bottoms and white trainers. The other man is described as being approximately 5’10″ tall, of heavy build and was wearing a black leather jacket, dark jeans and white trainers.
