Two arrested after gardaí seize €220,000 worth of cocaine and ketamine

The two were “acting suspiciously” in the town yesterday, according to gardaí.

GARDAÍ IN CARLOW have arrested two men in connection with a €220,000 drug seizure.

According to a statement today, gardaí on routine patrol observed two men “acting suspiciously” beside two cars at Rochfort Manor, Old Leighlin Road at around 5.40pm yesterday evening.

The officers proceeded to search the two cars – a black Audi and a silver Renault.

Three large packages were discovered, two of which are believed to contain cocaine and another ketamine.

The estimated street value of the haul is €220,000 – subject to further analysis.

The two men, one in his 20s and the other in his 30s, were arrested at the scene and taken to Carlow Garda Station.

Both are being detained under the provisions of Section 2 of the Criminal Justice (Drug Trafficking) Act 1996.
