Man due in court after nearly half a million euro worth of drugs seized in Meath

A man was also arrested after a separate drugs bust in Cork yesterday.

A MAN WAS arrested after €480,000 worth of cannabis herb was discovered in Meath.

The 24-year-old was arrested late yesterday morning and will appear in court this morning charged in connection with the seizure.

The discovery was made at a premises at Larrix Street, Duleek as part of on-going intelligence-led operations.

The man was held at Drogheda garda station and is scheduled to appear before Dundalk District Court this morning at 10.30am.

Meanwhile a man in his late 30s was also arrested in Cork yesterday after drugs were found in a car.

Cocaine, cannabis herb and cannabis resin with a street value of €2,400 were discovered in the car when it was stopped and searched by Gardaí in Fermoy, near Watergrasshill.

During a follow up search at a house in Ballincollig a further quantity of cannabis herb, with a street value of €3,000 was discovered.

The man was released from Fermoy Garda Station early this morning and a file is being prepared for the DPP.
