Seizure

Cocaine, cannabis, crystal meth and a gun seized in Longford

A man in his 20s is to appear in court today in relation to the seizure.

A MAN IN his late 20s is due to appear in Athlone District Court this morning at 10.30am, charged in relation to the discovery of a firearm and drugs at a house in Edgeworthstown, County Longford.

Gardaí carried out a planned search of the house yesterday afternoon  at about 4pm.

Seizure

During the course of the search they discovered a 9mm pistol and a small quantity of drugs, believed to be cocaine, cannabis and crystal meth.

A 28-year-old man was arrested at the scene and detained at Longford Garda Station under Section 30 of the Offences Against The State Act, 1939.
