Man freed after car overturns at Terminal 1 in Dublin Airport

The incident happened at the entrance to Terminal 1 this morning.

A MAN HAS been freed from his car after it overturned at the entrance to Terminal 1 in Dublin Airport this morning.

Members of Dublin Airport Fire Service, Dublin Fire Brigade and Dublin Airport Police were on the scene after the car overturned on the road leading into Terminal 1 at the airport at around 8.30am this morning.

The driver of the car, reported to be in his 20s, was freed after emergency services spent over an hour trying to release him. He has since been been hospitalised with leg injuries.

Witnesses said that as many as four emergency services vehicles were on the scene and that only one car was involved. The cause of the car overturning is not known.

Dublin Airport Police maintained diversions while the man was being freed and the road has since been cleared with traffic returning to normal, a Dublin Airport Authority spokesperson confirmed.
