Dublin Bus investigates video of 'crack cocaine' being smoked on bus

The footage allegedly took place near Firhouse in the south of Dublin.

DUBLIN BUS IS investigating footage posted on social media allegedly showing a woman smoking ‘crack cocaine’ at the back of a bus.

The video, posted on Facebook on March 19, was filmed by a member of the public near Firhouse in Dublin.

It shows two women sitting at the back of the upper saloon of a bus.

After waiting until the bus is stationary, one leans into a bottle while the other holds a lighter to its base, apparently inhaling.

The poster said they were “smoking crack cocain [sic]“.

In a statement, Dublin Bus said it is “investigating this incident to verify if it took place and the exact details”.

The company added that a number of safety measures are in place on buses, such as CCTV.

” The footage and pictures which can be downloaded from the CCTV systems has proven to be invaluable in terms of helping An Garda Síochána to pursue the prosecution of offending individuals.”

Since the introduction of CCTV on all Dublin Bus buses, incidents of anti- social behaviour and vandalism on buses have decreased.

“All Dublin Bus employees are fully trained on the comprehensive procedures for dealing with specific situations, including disorderly behaviour on bus, anti-social behaviour, smoking on buses and protection against assault and robbery,” the statement added.
