Dublin homes without water due to 'third party damage'

The city council said a water tanker is in place at Donnycarney church.

DUBLIN CITY COUNCIL has advised that certain properties in the Killester and Donnycarney areas are without water today due to damage caused by a third party.

There is a break on a large distribution main which has disrupted water supply on the Malahide Road from Ardlea roundabout to Donnycarney church. Tongelee Road, Coolock Village, Harmonstown and Edenmore have also been affected.

Some homes will see a reduction in service or reduced pressures, while others have no water supply at all.

Repair works have commenced and a water tanker is in place at Donnycarney church, at the junction of the Malahide Road and Collins Avenue East. It may need to leave the location at times for refills.

The council has apologised for any inconvenience caused.

Separately, the council has implemented nightly restrictions on water in all areas of the city this weekend in order to replenish the supply of treated drinking water.
