A fire in Dublin is causing traffic problems

The Port Tunnel is also closed.

TRAFFIC IN DUBLIN is backed up this morning as Dublin Fire Brigade tackles a fire at a derelict building.

Four units, including three pumps, are tackling the blaze at the building on Fumbally Lane in Dublin 8.

The fire has spilled a large amount of smoke onto New Street, which is part of the main approach to the city centre for traffic from the south-west suburbs of the capital.

Motorists are being warned to be aware that visibility in the area may be affected and traffic will be heavy in the area for some time. Currently, there is no access to the Blackpitts from Dean Street.

Elsewhere, the Port Tunnel is closed temporarily northbound, due to a breakdown in the tunnel.
