Dude, where’s my train?

Irish Rail launch interactive map that shows where all their intercity, commuter and DART trains are at any given time…

IRISH RAIL HAS launched a new feature on its website. As well as looking up train timetables as normal, users of IrishRail.ie can now go to an interactive map that shows the exact position of trains on lines across the country.

At any given time, you can see track the progress of every intercity, DART and commuter train. This is a screenshot of the map during rush hour yesterday evening (17.39):

Obviously, you can zoom in on an area to see more precise locations:

And if you click on a train of your choice, it brings up details of departure/arrival times, real-time progress, scheduled stops etc:

What do you think? Would you use this tool when travelling on the Irish train system?
