€1 million worth of drugs seized in Dublin Port

The drugs were seized by the Revenue’s customs service earlier today.

ONE MAN HAS been arrested following a huge drugs seizure in Dublin.

The Revenue’s customs service seized 75kgs of cannabis resin, 25kgs of herbal cannabis and 2.3kgs of cocaine today at Dublin Port.

The drugs have a combined potential street value of approximately €1million.

The drugs were concealed in a refrigerated 40ft container, which arrived in Dublin Port from Germany via Holyhead this morning.

They were detected by a customs drug dog and both the truck and trailer were seized.

One male, a UK National in his 50, was arrested by An Garda Síochána and is currently being held in Store Street Garda Station.

Gardaí said enquiries are ongoing both nationally and internationally.
