1. #COURTS: The jury in the Graham Dwyer trial is due to begin considering its verdict later today. The judge said yesterday they had to be fully satisfied, beyond any reasonable doubt, that the ‘untraceable’ phones in the case belong to the accused.

2. #ADVERSE FINDINGS: A draft report into baby deaths at Midland Regional Hospital Portlaoise contains more than 250 adverse findings or inferences, letters released by the HSE reveal. HSE boss Tony O’Brien said in one letter he feared the findings would shatter confidence in services.

3. #REHAB: A barrister representing the Public Accounts Committee has said it would be ‘astounding’ for it to have to pay damages to Angela Kerins because of comments members made during a Dáil inquiry.

4. #EVICTION: Squatters at a building in Grangegorman have welcomed what they describe as “victory” after an attempted eviction. Yesterday and into last night, there was a garda presence at the vacant building, including a garda helicopter.

5. #SOCIAL HOUSING: The State is facing a European human rights case over the standard of some social housing in Ireland, RTÉ News reports. Residents in several estates have issues with pyrite, damp, and mould.

6. #SLOW DOWN: Road deaths are often higher in counties with a lower rate of penalty points, according to analysis by The Irish Times. The main offender in this area is Monaghan.

7. #ENFORCEMENT: Proposed plans to deduct water charges from people’s income have been heavily criticised this morning. Deputy Paul Murphy has said the plans are ‘a death warrant for Labour’.

8. #CANCER: Actress Angelina Jolie has said that she has had her ovaries and fallopian tubes removed in a preventative bid to avoid getting cancer. In a column in today’s New York Times, Jolie said that the surgery was carried out last week after a cancer scare.

9. #WHERE’S ME JUMPER: Did you enjoy the warm weather over the weekend? We hate to be the one to tell you, but wintry conditions are coming back, according to the Irish Independent. Met Éireann are forecasting thunderstorms today.
