A MAN IS being treated in hospital after he was hit by a car on the Stillorgan Road earlier today.

The 85-year-old man was crossing the road when he was hit by a car at around 10am this morning on the N11 dual-carriageway southbound at Stillorgan Park.

He has been taken  to St Vincent’s Hospital where he is receiving treatment.

The N11 southbound has been reduced to two lanes and Gardaí say that delays in the area can be expected as a forensic examination is taking place.

Gardaí have also appealed for any witnesses to the crash to contact them at Blackrock Garda station on 01 666 5200 or the Garda confidential line on 1800 666 111

  • Probably one of the worst roads for pedestrians to cross in Dublin. They have flyovers there but I see a lot of people are too lazy to use them although I’m sure some find the steps too much which is understandable.

    • There’s no flyovers at that spot. Just pedestrian crossings and they’re not at all generous with time. I’ve run tight for time crossing them, can see how someone who doesn’t walk as fast could get hit.
