Having topped the polls as a first-time candidate in 2007, Timmy Dooley will be hoping to repeat his success and secure re-election as Fianna Fáil's Clare representative. Dooley has been an active Fianna Fáil member since his student days in UCD when he was appointed as head of the Kevin Barry cumann. He served a term in Seanad Éireann from 2002 to 2007 as a member of the Administrative Panel.



 

Did you know?

Dooley was responsible for a major gaffe in May 2010 when he accidentally voted against the government on a motion to hold the Donegal South-West by-election immediately.
