Councillor Pat Burton is a Fine Gael candidate in Cork North-Central. Burton is a relative political newcomer, entering the political arena for the first time with victory in the 2009 local elections. The 55-year-old caused a bit of a shock at the party's nomination convention when he secured more first preferences than the constituency's long-established representative, Bernard Allen.
