Joanna Tuffy is the outgoing Labour Party TD for Dublin Mid-West. The former solicitor was first elected to South Dublin County Council in 1999 where she served a single term as a councillor representing her native area of Lucan. Following her disappointment in the 2002 general election, Tuffy was elected to the Seanad by the Administrative Panel where she served until 2007. She is currently Labour's Spokesperson on Environment and Heritage.
