Fine Gael TD Brian Hayes is seeking re-election in the four-seat Dublin South-West constituency. Hayes, who is a former school teacher, was first elected to Dáil Eireann in 1997. Following an unsuccessful attempt to retain his seat in 2002, he was elected to the Senate where he served until 2007 when he was returned as a TD once more. He was the party's Spokesperson on Education and Science from September 2007 until July 2010.
