      Community activist Trevor O Clochartaigh has been selected as Sinn Féin's candidate in Galway West. The Carna man was unsuccessful when he stood as the party's local election candidate for Connemara in June 2009. This is his first general election campaign.

      O Clochartaigh formerly worked as the artistic director of An Taibhdhearc and as a producer and director on Ros na Rún and Fair City.
