In search of a sixth term in Dáil Eireann, Charlie Flanagan TD is a Fine Gael candidate for Laois-Offaly. Flanagan has served as a TD for a total of twenty-eight years, from 1987 to 2002 and 2007 to the present. A qualified solicitor, Flanagan was previously appointed as Fine Gael's Justice Spokesperson. In July 2010, he was appointed as the party's Spokesperson on Children.

    Normally I would have been a FG voter, as most of the time, FG policies alligned with my own ideas. However, this time, I can’t vote FG. Why?
    Policies on the Irish language
    Promise to repeal stag hunting ban
    No full marriage rights for gays – they have to make do with civil partnership

    There are more, but these 3 are enough to have lost my vote.

      I think a lot of what FG are promising is election bluffing….FG are not REAL change, and I don’t see them making any decent impact on the mess we’re in, we shold never have been saddled with the bankers debt
